Updated: Jul 21, 2021

It is not because I am Brazilian, but I have to say the foods and beverages from this country are delicious.

It doesn't matter where you are from or what is your taste like, when you come to Brazil, you have to make sure that you try these things:

  1. Coxinha

This one is made out of potato and chicken, then fried. Believe me when I say that it is sooooo good, nothing compares to it. You can usually find it in bakeries.

2. Pão de Queijo

It is like a cheese bread and it is also soooo good (I think I might be a little biased). It is often eaten during breakfast and can be found in lots of places: bakeries, grocery stores, conveniece stores and sometimes even on restaurants.

3. Brigadeiro

This little balls are made with chocolate and condensed milk. It usually gets so many likes from the chocolate lovers!

4. Capirinha

This one is for the ones over 18 (this is the drinking age in Brazil), it is made out of fruit and cachaça (a distilled spirit), if you want you can also add sugar or trade the cachaça for vodka.

5. Açaí

Acaí is a round berry that comes from the açai palm tree, which is native to rainforests of Central and South America. In Brazil people usually eat it in a bowl like the picture below, sometimes adding other fruits, condensed milk, cononut and more.

6. Guaraná

It is a soft drink made out of syrup of the guaraná fruit.

7. Churrasco

Brazilian's famour barbecue, cooked over charcoal and flames, you can expect lots of meet types, sausages, chicken and more.

8. Feijoada

The star of this dish is black beans (feijão). It is a rich stew traditionally made from different parts of the pig, depending on the cooks taste. It is eaten with white rice, cabagge, orange, farofa (another brazilian food) and more.

9. Tapioca

Tapioca is a starch extracted from cassava root, a tuber native to South America. It is used in a lot of recipes, sweet or salty.

10. Paçoca

It is a traditional treat made of peanuts, sugar and salt. It can be home made or bought in grocery stores.

Let me know what you think of these tasty things!
